The purpose of the High Risk Youth Program is to consolidate health services for young people (ages 12 to 24), focusing on problems of substance abuse, sexually transmitted diseases, unplanned pregnancies, suicide, running away, and prostitution. The Youth and Family Center provides a comprehensive program of pregnancy prevention and services to high-risk pregnant adolescents, adolescent and young adult parents, and their families. Other major programs include: Peace Colors (a violence prevention program), early parenting, maternity counseling, psycho/social services, nutrition and health education, vocational counseling and employment training, teen theater, AIDS prevention program, day care for children from birth through five years of age, and family life education.
