Children of the Night was established out of a growing concern for children who are forced into prostitution or pornography. lts goal is to establish a clearing-house shelter as a way-station for children ineligible for traditional social services. They provide a 24-hour hotline, street outreach program in Los Angeles. Qrange. and San Diego Counties, and an intake center in Hollywood for children ages 11-17 who are involved in prostitution or pornography. The center also offers a walk-in counseling center, crisis intervention for medical or life-threatening situations, family counseling, job placement, and foster home or group home placement.
